8.4: How Wizy Differs from Other Agencies, and When Wizy Isn't Right for You

Wizy differs from other agencies in three ways: we understand Vietnamese customers and speak Vietnamese, we meet you in person in Ontario, and we produce content with an AI-assisted team in Vietnam, which keeps prices below mainstream agencies. But Wizy isn't right for every shop, and this post covers both sides.
I'm Wizy's founder, so read this as "the seller talking about his own product". I'll be as straight as I can, including the cases where you shouldn't choose us.
Why Loc and I started Wizy
I (Hoan) work in technology and AI. Loc handles the business side. We both live in Ontario.
We kept seeing the same gap. Vietnamese shop owners usually had two choices:
- •Mainstream agencies: professional, but expensive and unfamiliar with Vietnamese customers. They don't know why our customers would rather message on Zalo than send an email.
- •Cheap remote services: a few dozen dollars a month, but templated posts, nobody visits the shop, and nobody is accountable when something goes wrong.
There was nobody in between. Wizy exists to fill that space.
The Wizy model: half in Ontario, half in Vietnam
This is the most important difference, so here's how it works.
The Ontario half is the part that needs to be present:
- •Meeting you in person in Vaughan, Toronto or Mississauga.
- •Setting strategy.
- •Coming to your shop to film and photograph.
The Vietnam half is production:
- •Writing, design and video editing.
- •AI helps us move faster, and a person reviews the output.
Think of a restaurant where the head chef is out front talking to guests while the back kitchen does the prep. Guests are still served by someone who understands them, and the price doesn't balloon.
An honest comparison
| Mainstream agency | Agency in Vietnam | Freelancer | Wizy | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Price | High | Low | Varies | Mid-range |
| Understands Vietnamese culture and customers | Usually not | Yes | Varies | Yes |
| Understands the Ontario market | Yes | Usually not | Varies | Yes |
| Meets in person, films on site | Yes | No | Varies | Yes |
| Works Ontario hours | Yes | Different time zone | Varies | Yes |
| Bilingual Vietnamese–English | Rare | English may be limited | Varies | Yes |
| Own software (CRM, check-in) | Rare | Rare | No | Yes |
"Varies" in the freelancer column is sincere. Some freelancers are excellent. The risk is that you have to find and manage them yourself, and when they're busy, work stops.
What Wizy commits to
- •White Hat only. No fake reviews, no tricks to get around Google's rules. Those can get a shop penalized, and you bear the consequences, not the agency.
- •Reporting with real numbers. Calls, bookings, new customers. Not likes.
- •Vietnamese spoken. You don't have to translate your ideas into English and worry about being misunderstood.
- •We're here. If something comes up, you can meet a real person.
Where Wizy is weaker
To be fair:
- •Wizy is a young company with a small team. We don't have the decades behind us that big agencies do.
- •We focus on local service shops: nails, spas, restaurants, real estate. Outside those, we have less experience.
- •Part of the team is in Vietnam, so some work takes overnight.
- •We're not the cheapest. If price is your only measure, you'll find much cheaper.
When Wizy is NOT right for you
- •You need a single one-off job, like printing a menu. A freelancer will be faster and cheaper.
- •Your whole monthly marketing budget is under a few hundred dollars. Start by doing it yourself with the guides on this blog.
- •You need results in two weeks. Proper marketing takes months, and I won't promise what I can't deliver.
- •You sell nationally or internationally rather than running a local shop. Other agencies specialize in that.
- •You want to buy reviews or take shortcuts. We don't take that work.
When Wizy is a good fit
- •Your shop is in Ontario and serves Vietnamese customers, English-speaking customers, or both.
- •You want to talk in Vietnamese with someone who knows the work.
- •You want one team covering several areas instead of stitching together five or six people.
- •You're ready to commit for several months, not try it for a week.
5 questions to ask any agency, including Wizy
- •Who will actually work with me, and how do I reach them?
- •Which numbers do you use to measure results?
- •What's the minimum contract, and how do I stop?
- •Whose name are the ad accounts, social pages and customer data in?
- •Do you use fake reviews or fake followers?
Question 4 matters a great deal. Accounts and data should belong to you. Be careful with any agency that keeps them as its own.
Quick recap, and the end of this series
- •Wizy's difference: understanding Vietnamese customers, being present in Ontario, producing in Vietnam with AI support.
- •Wizy is young, small, and not the cheapest.
- •Wizy isn't a fit if you need a one-off job, instant results or shortcuts.
- •With any agency, ask who does the work, how it's measured, and who owns the data.
The four posts add up: work out the true cost of hiring (8.1) → see which stage your shop is at (8.2) → picture six months (8.3) → choose a partner (8.4).

Frequently Asked Questions
How is Wizy different from other marketing agencies?+
Three main ways. Wizy understands Vietnamese customers and works in both Vietnamese and English. Wizy has people in Ontario to meet in person, set strategy and film at your shop. Content production is done by an AI-assisted team in Vietnam, which keeps prices below mainstream agencies. Wizy also commits to White Hat methods only, with no fake reviews.
When should I not choose Wizy?+
When you need a single one-off job, when your whole monthly marketing budget is under a few hundred dollars, when you need results in two weeks, when you sell nationally or internationally rather than running a local shop, or when you want to buy reviews or take shortcuts. Wizy is also a young company with a small team and isn't the cheapest option.
What should I ask a marketing agency before signing?+
Five questions: who will actually work with me and how do I reach them; which numbers measure results; what's the minimum contract and how do I stop; whose name the ad accounts, social pages and customer data are in; and whether they use fake reviews or followers. Accounts and data should belong to the shop owner.
